“I remember the day I said it out loud. The day I was 100% sure what I wanted to do the rest of my life. I was 10 years old swimming with my mom in the backyard. I heard an ambulance coming down the road. I rushed out of the pool as fast as my tiny legs could carry me. I stood on the deck so I could see over the fence and watched the blaring lights and sirens pass by. In that moment, I resolutely uttered a promise to myself and all the people who would one day rely on me for help, ‘I will become a paramedic.’ ”
RaShelle’s grandmother, a devout Catholic, was a strong influence in her life. Every time her grandmother saw a police car, a fire truck or an ambulance speeding to an emergency, she would pray out loud for the person who needed emergency medical care in that moment. “From a very young age, my Grandma’s action made me become very aware of ambulances and what might be happening inside of them,” she says, “I just knew I had a calling to help others.”
In 1992, RaShelle began her training as an EMT and Paramedic. Immediately upon completing her training, she worked for two years as an EMT at the LaGrange Fire Department and then moved into a paramedic position at Allen Hospital in Oberlin, Ohio where she remained for sixteen years, assisting physicians and nurses, responding on ALS (Advanced Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) 911 emergency calls, and performing patient care duties in the emergency room.
RaShelle’s natural skill for teaching emergency medical care was recognized in 2008 when she was offered a career position of Corporate Emergency Management Safety Trainer for one of the largest car insurance providers in the United States, Progressive Corporation headquartered in Mayfield, Ohio. RaShelle traveled to Progressive’s many locations nation wide to teach CPR, First Aid, Disaster Planning and Safety training. She was responsible for an Emergency Response Team of over 1,300 members nationwide.
Her passion for helping and training others in emergency healthcare blossomed in April, 2015 when RaShelle relocated to Fort Myers, Florida with the plan to open her own CPR, First Aid and Safety training business.
In 2017, her lifelong dream of helping as many people as possible in emergency circumstances became her reality in the form of her own company, 2LifeCPR, which offers a large variety of American Heart Association classes.
"I am passionate about teaching Basic Life Support and CPR Training in Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Naples and beyond!"
